Strengthening international cooperation — Lianhua's ties with the world
Delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered in Xinhai this week to forge new multilateral frameworks for sustainable maritime governance, fisheries management, and climate adaptation financing.
The flagship infrastructure programme will develop port facilities, maritime training institutions, and coast guard capabilities across six African nations, funded by a LNH 8 billion concessional package.
The Lianhua–ASEAN Technology Transfer Framework, now in its second year, has facilitated the transfer of 47 ocean monitoring and renewable energy technologies to eight member states, exceeding first-year targets by 34%.
The Lianhua–Netherlands Center for Maritime Innovation, co-funded by both governments, will employ 120 researchers working across ammonia propulsion, wind-assisted shipping, and digital port operations.
The concessional credit line, offered at 1.2% annual interest over 30 years, is targeted at climate-resilient infrastructure, renewable energy, and maritime connectivity for twelve Pacific island states.
